It's sad that we have to put anything more than just "don't be a dick" here, but some
people don't seem to understand what that means anymore...
Our rules are designed to encourage all our users to be good web citizens. We believe everyone should
be able to chill, relax, and talk about life. In order for that to happen, we swiftly obliterate
racism, transphobia, ableism or hate speech of any kind. There is no place for it here or in the
world in general.
We actively apply these rules to our community members on the services we provide. However, if
abhorrent or inappropriate behaviour is reported to us, by anyone, we will investigate and will
apply the rules below to that conduct; even if it is on an unrelated service.
This rule is designed to protect all of our users from any sort of abuse and
to ensure the community is a fun and accepting place for all to talk and
interact. It aims to protect our users from:
Discrimination, denigration, harassment, or threats based on, but not
limited to, race, ethnicity, color, caste, national origin, immigration
status, sex, religion, gender, age, sexual identity, gender identity,
sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, or veteran status;
Trolling or expressing an unpopular point of view with the intent to
cause disruption;
Hateful or harassing behaviour, including but not limited to, insulting
anyone in any way;
Sexual advances, objectifying statements, derogatory statements,
degrading statements or any sexual harassment;
Lying, or falsifying information, about anyone or anything;
Sharing unverified, unsourced or unreliable claims about any notable
individual or entity;
Impersonating any member of staff or the community, including
impersonation of an individual or entity;
Doxxing or sharing any information which you do not have permissions to
share;
Bypassing or attempting to bypass any chat filter;
Discussing politics, religion, self-harm, suicide or disruptive topics;
This rule is designed to protect against spam or advertising. It aims to
stop:
Misusing or abusing mentions or tags to gain attention;
Excessive use of capitalised text (caps) or emotes/emoji;
Posting the same message repeatedly, including asking the same question
repeatedly if not answered;
Using channel points to disrupt or spam chat;
Repeating other users messages, or asking other users in chat to repeat
your message, including "signal boosting";
Posting surveys, giveaways, fundraisers, or questionnaires;
Asking, begging, or soliciting for subscriptions, gifts, gift subs,
donations, attention or products;
Requesting reviews of products, organisations, companies, services or
games;
Attempting to organise sponsorship, advertising, payment, media
activity, promotional content, interviews or questionnaires in a public
setting;
Complaining about, discussing or commenting on, any moderation actions
or moderation setup including blocked terms;
Posting links or content which could be considered: malicious,
objectionable materials, pornography, shock sites, malware, phishing
sites, hate groups, fake news or intentionally misleading information;
Utilizing direct messages to annoy a community member after they have
asked you to stop;
Posting advertising including, social accounts, streams, promotions,
affiliate links or other websites, streamers or servers.
Advertising Communities, Groups, YouTube Channels, Twitch channels or
Discord Servers on Dexbonus Services is not permitted without express
permission from the Community Manager.
You must abide by the Community Guidelines, Policies and Terms of Service for
the platform you're interacting on. This includes, but is not limited to:
You may be asked to use a different account or to change your username, if
your username is found to be inappropriate. This is to avoid offence to
other members of the community.
Almost every platform we use explicitly forbids piracy. This includes, but is
not limited to, linking to sites with pirated content, suggesting you have
watched pirated content and discussions or suggestions as to where to obtain
pirated content.
Spoilers Suck. So we'll remove them, not just for the game that's currently
being played, but for any recent film or TV show. Sometimes you may disagree
on what is a spoiler, but please be respectful of our mods decision. We
consider mentioning unexplained, misunderstood or unseen game mechanics or
elements as a spoiler. If you want to discuss game spoilers we have a
dedicated channel, called the Spoiler-Void, on Discord. We
do things this way due to Discord's spoiler tags, there's other channels
where you can discuss anime and shows too!
Do not backseat game during Dodger's first playthrough or any subsequent
playthrough where there are "no backseating" tags below the stream. Backseat
gaming is where you tell Dodger how to play the game. You may want to share
your strategy, minmax build or tips for how to beat a boss; but please let
Dodger play the game her own way. Please also don't point out when Dodger
misses something - just because you saw it, doesn't mean Dodger did. If
Dodger does want help from chat then mods will allow help. Dodger will
clearly ask chat directly, starting her question with something like: "Chat
you can answer this" or "Chat you won't be timed out for answering".
We have this rule to stop anyone sharing advice, intentionally or
accidentally, which could be dangerous for our users. Do not provide
specialist support for topics where your qualifications cannot be verified;
this includes, but is not limited to, Medicine, Finance, Investments, Health
and Childcare. If you choose to follow any advice given by a member of the
community, we will not be responsible for the outcome. Please always seek
professional help from a trusted, registered and qualified specialist.
Please do not ask unprompted questions about Dodger's family, personal life
or private topics. If you wouldn't ask a random person in the street, it's
not appropriate to ask Dodger out of the blue. If Dodger is already
discussing these topics then questions are generally fine, but please keep
in mind that Dodger will ignore questions she does not want to answer - do
not repeat them.
We don't allow discussion related to religion, politics or current
web/internet drama. This is because these conversations regularly get heated
and users struggle to maintain a casual atmosphere when discussing them.
From time to time certain topics subjects not listed in other rules may be
deemed unacceptable for discussion on Dexbonus Services. These will be
relayed via the Dexbonus community Team in those services if and when
relevant. Please don't discuss them if you are asked to avoid the topic.
Ignorance of, disagreement with, or misunderstanding the rules is not a valid
reason to be pardoned or excused from them. We'll give you a bit of leeway
if you're new - everyone gets chances. Our moderators know what Dodger has
asked us to remove and are only following her guidance. Please don't argue
with the moderators about any punishment or application of the rules. If you
have feedback or comments you can email [email protected].
Further Details
Infractions and Punishments
Please ensure that you read and fully understand the rules above. Failure to abide by these rules
will lead to punishments being applied to your account as detailed in the following section. If you
have any questions about the rules, or you do not believe that the rules are clear, please contact
us via email at [email protected]
for clarification.
Users will receive an infraction for breaking any of the rules above. Depending on the severity of
the infraction the punishment applied will vary. Generally conduct will fall into three categories:
Minor infraction. Backseating during a game.
Major infraction. Discussing piracy in chat.
Extreme infraction or Repeat infractions. Think TOS violations
or worse.
Upon receiving an infraction, players will be warned, temporarily banned, or permanently banned, depending on the
number previous infractions as well as the severity of all infraction(s). Particularly serious rule
violations will result in an immediate permanent ban with no prior warning.
Example Twitch does not
tolerate any abuse that is motivated by hatred, prejudice or intolerance, therefore the penalty for
such behaviour is more severe.
The above is provided as guidance to help you understand why your mesasage may have been deleted;
each situation is different and moderators have been told to use their discretion to make judgments
about each situation in turn. This means that sometimes the current situation may not fit into a
nice box, and will instead require different punishments. If you believe that your punishment is
unfair you can contact us via the support email [email protected] and it will be
reviewed. Please be aware, if a moderator has used their discretion to overlook or pardon a
specific action, which is then later reviewed as part of an email sent; your punishment may be
increased.
Notice Starting from
January 22, 2021 any moderator indication (i.e. timeouts, bans, reports) which has identified
content breaking Twitch's Sitewide rules will automatically be referred to Twitch and further
actions may be taken against your account by Twitch without direction by us. Further information
about the new Hateful Conduct and Harassment policy can be found on Twitch's website.
Ban Appeals
Hopefully information you'll never need.
Dodger and all senior staff, are included in the ban appeals process. The moderator who issued the
action is not involved unless the reason for the ban was unclear; this is by design to avoid any
situation where they could influence an unban decision. There is a platform
log of all our moderators actions and audit this. We value the integrity of all
our moderators and the amazing work they do.
Permanent Bans can be appealed and/or discussed by following the guidance on our unbans page. Bans cannot be appealed
outside of that guidance. We do not review or consider appeals for temporary punishments, the only
exception to this is temporary bans made by our automated moderation systems, however, these will
usually be reviewed within 24 hours.
If you would like an explanation of why you were punished this will usually be provided alongside the
punishment. However, some of our services do not display the reason upfront, in these
cases you can ask for a reason by emailing [email protected] for clarification.
Giving false information in any ban appeal will result in immediate denial of the appeal with no
further discussion and no chance of review. Abuse of the unban process, may result in your email
being blocked and your email address being reported as malicious, abusive or spam depending on the
nature of the emails received.
Discussing bans
Discussion of a punishment, from any channel or community, is considered a disruptive
topic.
Discussion or comments about punishments disrupts the natural conversation, and therefore our
moderators will remove it. Discussing, commenting on or complaining about a: ban appeal, ban,
moderator, or moderation action in a public forum may lead to further punishment.
Furthermore, anyone found to be harassing; members of the community, the moderation team or other
streamers, in relation to their punishment(s) will be reported to relevant services and their
ability to appeal will be removed indefinitely.
Punishment Evasion
Punishment evasion is not permitted, and will result in a permanent ban for all alternate accounts
associated with the evading player. The alternate accounts will remain banned once the original ban
expires, and the original ban may also be extended indefinitely. We work closely with relevant
platforms and your account may be permanently banned from the entire platform if you are found to be
repeatedly evading bans.
Punishment evasion includes, but is not limited to;
Creating new accounts
Using another already created account
Signing up with different details
Asking someone to post, message or signal boost on your behalf
We use advanced social listening and analysis tools to identify evasions of a ban. We work with
relevant platforms to ensure that access to the entire platform is revoked for all relevant accounts
when there is repeated and malicious ban evasion.
